Search engine optimisation

Optimising your web site means search engines find you

Web Site Optimisation is a phrase that is oft spoken and rarely explained. It would be more accurate to say 'Making your web site more compatible with the software used by the search engines to compile it's index of web pages'. There now that's clear.

Oh but there is a problem - there's always something you say. Impressive web design and web search software don't seem to go together very well. Have you ever had the experience of seeing your two-bit competitor taking top spot in the search engines when your site has much more to say on the subject. The reason usually is that their site is simple and straightforward and doesn't use any complex software.

The challenge comes when you want your web site to look good and to be impressive in order to support and build your brand recognition AND you want to provide your customers with tools to interactively connect with your business BUT you want to beat the cotton socks off the cowboys and back-street traders that you know don't offer the best value to the customers.

A point to bear in mind is that your position in the search engine rankings could well positively or adversely affect your brand position. Whilst you can't directly control this - you can influence and enhance your chances.

WebCertain will guide you through the search engine maze in any language - and help you to get the best from your web design. We work alongside your web designers advising them and you of the best way forward.

Now here's a question. What do you want to rank well for? This might seem like a simple question, but believe me this is far from straightforward. Choosing where to fight the battle is one of the most important business questions relating to your web site and the good news is that WebCertain has a number of tools to help you.

Here's some of them:

Search Engine Search Term Research

Site Keyword Strategy Alignment Map

Keyword Strategy Prototyping
WebCertain has a number of ways of checking out your plan for Search Engine Optimisation - before you commit energy and resources to an approach that doesn’t work. Our motto is 'Don't take risks with the web'. We truly believe that the worldwide web is an intensely competitive environment - but that with expert help there are opportunities for you to maximise your business potential.

Keyword Density
WebCertain has a number of ways of mimicking the way the search engines see your web pages and to optimise your site accordingly. Keyword Density is just one example of this. Under-emphasise your target words and phrases, then your site has not taken full advantage of search engine optimisation opportunities. Over-emphasise your target phrases and you could well lead the search engines into thinking you are a 'spammer' - someone who tries to fool the search engines with sites that rank for dis-connected topics and themes.

The bottom line is that WebCertain has the breadth of experience and expertise to help you move forwards AND upwards.
