WebCertain is now offering a training course to enhance the web marketing and optimisation service we provide. Clients will benefit from this training by gaining a greater understanding of the processes we employ and the reasoning behind it. By making the optimisation process more transparent we put our clients in a better position to take control of the success of their website.
Called the ‘Seven Seas’ the course outlines the 7 main areas of web marketing;
1. Control - monitoring visitor activity on your website.
2. Compatibility - making your website appealing to search engines.
3. Content - how search engines and visitors find, navigate and rate your web pages.
4. Culture - making sure your website performs well in the market you are targeting.
5. Connections - how to improve the status of your website with search engines.
6. Conversion - generating activity on your website.
7. Cost per Click - managing successful paid advertising campaigns.
We realise that when it comes to optimising your site you pay us to do it for you; but is important for you as a client to know how and where your money is being spent. Getting to grips with search marketing means talking to the people with the experience to make it count, our Seven Seas training is designed to share the benefit of our experience in a meaningful way to you and your company. Even if you are not currently a client we believe this training course will help you to understand what web marketing involves and how it can help any company with a web presence.
Below is a brief overview of what each ‘C’ includes. As well as offering factual explanations of each area and its importance, the course also refers back to real examples highlighting the relevance of the Seven Seas to the success of your website.
1. Control – Taking control of your website means first putting into place systems to monitor current activity, and then any consequent changes. We believe implementing control systems should be the first part of any online marketing campaign as it allows us to measure the effects of intervention, and you to ensure that you are getting your money’s worth!
2. Compatibility – Search engines control what people see on the internet by deciding which pages to include in their database. By ensuring your website matches the search engines’ criteria you make it easier for them to crawl and index your site, and so stand a better chance of achieving a good position in the search results.
3. Content – Web pages need to represent the product or service a company sells. Part of the optimising process involves identifying the keywords that your potential customers are searching for, and that search engines recognise as relevant.
4. Culture – The World Wide Web is visible to a lot of people (the entire online World) so you need to ensure that your site is targeting the right people, geographically and demographically. The fourth C focuses on targeting your web pages to your intended audience, not wasting time on the rest of the World.
5. Connections – Your web pages exist alongside millions of others, some related, many not. By ensuring your website is connected to by other sites around it you can improve its status with search engines.
6. Conversion – Once you have invested in a website you want it to generate results. Conversion focuses on targeting the right visitors and turning them into customers by making your site easy to navigate and ensuring the necessary contact/purchasing procedures are in place.
7. Cost per Click – You can ensure your website is visible to potential customers by paying to have it appear on search results pages. Whilst this is a good way to ensure visibility, it can also be expensive and difficult to manage. Whilst we manage cost per click campaigns for our clients we also feel it is important for you to have an understanding of how this process works so you can see where and how your money is being spent!
If after the initial training you find you want to know more there will be in-depth sessions on each of the Seven Seas.
